When I changed from a 3.23 to 3.36 I used a Mr. Gasket ring gear spacer and then bought new grade 8 bolts that were longer by the spacer thickness. Backlash set no problem, but I have yet to run it. I know most frown on spacers, but for a street car, I'm not worried.
