The original seat upholstery has the bun on top of a thin blue cushion (from
what I recall) and then burlap sack type backing with wires in it to keep the
springs from eating away at the bun. I looked at my new CI buns and they appear
to have a backing built in. Can I put the CI buns directly over the springs? If
not, what kind of materials (from the wife's sowing box, etc.) are good to use?

BTW, I got new springs for the driver's seat. Wow, night and day difference in
firmness and height.

Thanks,

Sheen
