Seems to me this is why people want original cars.  The more of it that's been
replaced, the less original it is and the closer to being a "clone" or
"tribute" car it is.  But to me the line winds up fuzzy depending on just how
rare the original original was.  If you had the FIRST TA off the assembly line
with vin XXXX100001 would it really be the same if you cut the VIN off the
rotting body and stuck it on even another TA much less a non-TA car?  But if
your lucky number was 101111 would it matter if you switched VINS from a
rotting body with 101111 to another identical car that was originally VIN
101555 just so you'd have your lucky VIN on your car?

I know some states have laws about this, but Joe said it already...If you
have an original "400" and replace both full rear quarters, full floor, new
fenders, repro 400 hood, deck lid, trunk floor, front valance...what is the
difference if you just find a "donor" car?  I think I remember reading an
article from one of the latest issues of either High Performance Pontiac or
Pontiac Enthusiast about a Judge.  The article mentioned they found and used
a lemans donor car...so was that illegal?  Depends on the State I guess.
