I don't like rebody's--especially for a rare car. Someone made the comment
about saving another Bird, but why not just keep the less rare car with the
good body? Most cars have another vin on the frame/firewall/etc which is the
correct vin of course.
I guess I have a lesser problem if the title is branded as someone mentioned.
You can also get into the discussion as to how much of the body must be saved
for it to be the same car. If all of the rivets are intact, is it the same
car? This is a slippery slope of course.
This kind of thing has give our hobby a black eye when the buyer finds out
later. Why can't we just be proud of the car with the good body as it rolled
out of the factory?
