I'd guess that there are 2 sided polys in there.  Look at the whiteness on the
wing root (in the shaded area) and what should be the shaded side of the tail
here: http://www.a1.nl/~ehofman/fgfs/gallery/fokker/002.jpg

Sometimes if the normals are flipped (backwards) this will occur and it can be
difficult to tell if you are looking at the surfaces inside out or not.

The main problem with the other models (like my 747) is the flaps need to have
the top and bottom surfaces in separate objects so that plib doesn't try to
smooth around the edge.  This could be called a modeler's problem,  but for
most situations this could be fixed in plib.  Since most flaps are pretty
flat, then smooth shading is not necessary on the flaps.  As I mentioned
before it might be a good idea for us to just reimplement the ac3d loader in
simgear and fix it up the way we want for FlightGear (which in some cases
might conflict with the plib behavior).
