I'm still debating that one, because while I can see it being very useful in building glass displays, and doing it from XML/script rather than C++, it potentially opens up a huge amount of work. > I made my own attempt to convert the text layer to an osgText > layer , but tracing backwards it seems the txf fonts are cached , > and used by the PLIB dialog / menu system , so not as easy as it > fisrt appeared.Ive been trying to come up with ways to improve the > glass cockpits , > > text being te biggest problem with the lack of control over spacing/ > scaling (it uses panel dimensions for that apparently). > Right, text does seem to be the number one issues. I noticed in some of your panels you're rendering digits using a 'number' texture for each digit, translated using a scaled property. I assume this is due to weaknesses or limitations in the 'real' text nodes? Any more information you can give about what approaches you've tried, and what works or doesn't work, would be be appreciated.
I'm particularly unclear about the reference to 'panel dimensions', if you could elaborate on the exact issue. > Im still holidaying for another week , 1200 kms from home , so I'll > have some catching up too. > Nothing is going to change that quickly, enjoy your holiday!
