This is correct. All single engine prop planes will have some torque affect. The more powerful the engine the more pronounced this will be. Also cross winds can make this much more difficult as well. My experience with the C172 model is that this is at least close to being correctly modeled. I have never flown a real C172 but I have flown a piper Tomahawk which should be about the same in this regard. Also it is normal to add some rudder trim for take off when operating a real aircraft to help with this issue. The amount of rudder trim will be reduced after take off since less will be needed as the aircraft picks up speed. It sounds to me like there are issues with your controller(s). What little flying I have done with the C172 model it has proven to be fairly easy to trim and it is also docile both in the air and on the ground. > > On Thu, 29 Nov 2007 17:52:01 -0500, you wrote: > > wrote: > >> Are you sure it's not the "torque effect" Most US prop aircraft require > >> right rudder on take-off due to torque, p-factor, precession and other > >> stuff lumped under torque. > > > >As an always wanted to be a Pilot non-pilot who loves flight sims I can > > only say it might be.
