Yes - I know that.
I was actually going for a friendly dig at Domingo - but I guess I missed.
Sorry to all concerned for the confusion.

Regarding the "go" thing, I actually quite like it as an idea.
I followed along a lot of the stuff Rob Pike did on inferno in general and
limbo in particular, and generally agreed with his ideas, so I was always a bit
sorry that didn't do better and win out over java et al.

And he (RP) was very courteous answering my brain-dead questions about it, even
though he clearly had better things to do! As was BWK, now I think about it.

No, lint did not, though some versions of cb (C beautifier) would. I think
maybe some lints would? I never used one that did, though.

But generally the point of lint was to point out where you had gone wrong, but
let you fix it yourself - reinforcement by repetition!

Hmmm I dunno though. I've struggled with the python formatter thing in the
past, where it forced me to break up some long lines.

The resulting code complied with the coding rules, but was completely
unreadable...

I worry that this might end up the same - rules applied in the face of common
sense!

Well, left to my own devices it would be spaces only all the time, so I guess
we agree on that.
