Brad,

I used to like Protel technical support before 1994 but they changed to
email & voice mail game like most other company. There is nothing wrong
with not having external technical support as long as your software is user
friendly, easy to figure out from the manual, good bug list with work
around, and data base of FAQ. Again, GOOD.... everything but very few can
achieve it.

The help built in the software & the knowledge base on the web sucks.
Don't we buy the software to increase our productivity?
If yes, then we want a good manual (hard and/or soft copy) so we can search
for info. quickly. Everyone can understand bugs in all software but we want
a list of bug with work around.

All this means good opportunity for new competition. Protel know that
already !!!

Cheers,
Phan

Bruce,
unfortunately Protel does not have a public bug list therefore we
have no way of assuring there is any particular item on their bug list. 'We'
cannot even be sure that they have a formal internal bug list. Simply report
it and pray that something is done. Pray that you even get a response other
then their auto-attendant reply, I typically have to chase them for some
response that they received or acknowledge my reports. I am still waiting on
one issue reported in Dec 00, no word, no enquiries for further details, co
confirmation, no acknowledgement, just the original auto-attendant reply.
