Maybe you should "look again" at the UIDE.ASM source file!   I have
"boiled down" its logic so many times that finding any MORE "spare"
bytes is REALLY becoming difficult, even for me!!

My own personal "guess" is that their bugs are more likely due to
incompetent BRATS "messing around" with hardware about which they
really are NOT qualified to "mess with"!!
