In addition to reducing processor speed with FDAPM, I was using
Japheth's HDPMI16.EXE, as well as DPAKBD.COM to provide processor
idling.

I'll try that.

But it will probably take me some time to report back, because in
the next few days I'm extra-busy with work and health issues in
the family :-(
