I think the Gentoo build applies this patch SDL_ttf2-2.0.6-patch2 During the build I see this
patching file SDL_ttf.c Hunk #1 succeeded at 822 (offset -8 lines). Hunk #2 succeeded at 835 (offset -8 lines). Hunk #3 succeeded at 866 (offset -8 lines). Hunk #4 succeeded at 923 (offset -8 lines). Hunk #5 succeeded at 1008 (offset -8 lines). Hunk #6 succeeded at 1240 (offset -8 lines).
