*sigh*

Some peeps just don't get it. I'm 110% confident anything developed in JSP
can be replicated in CF and vice-versa (given the correct skillset on the
developer). but MY GOD our place is OBSESSED with everything going Java on
the front end...Projects are taking 10 times as long !!! Sure JSP will have
a CF tag-like feel in a year or so but why re-invent the wheel now?

Today everyone was thrilled they found CachedRowSet for Java that we could
use to cache DB queries in memory so paging a large recordset in the browser
would be quick for the end user. It took 3 developers and one architect to
figure out the whole complicated setup and to get it working...(I was one of
them)..Meanwhile, biting my tongue, I thought to myself...Where's the
advantage of Java on the front end right here and now? We're wasting time!
"Here try this <CFQUERY> tag and throw in a CACHEDWITHIN parameter...done"

Sorry had to vent. :)
