Ah, I see. That's a different issue than David's original question,
"What .joboptions file does the Desktop and Server versions of
FusionPro use when distilling the final pdf output files?" However,
there's no PostScript or EPS involved at all in either case (PDF
composition or InDesign export), so the terms "Distiller" and
".joboptions file" were throwing me off. (Although EPS files are
involved in export from QuarkXPress, but that's another show.)
When exporting to FusionPro from InDesign, I believe that the PDF
settings used are whatever the last settings used with InDesign's own
Export to PDF function were. Perhaps there is an enhancement that
could be made to offer the user more choices at export time. However,
the InDesign plug-in is not really my area of expertise, so I don't
know exactly what's involved, but it's something we're looking at.
Ultimately, PDF transparency support is an issue in the composition
itself, and ideally, we should be able to handle any PDF file,
conforming to any reasonably recent version of the PDF specification,
as a template, regardless of its origin, without any compatibility
issues. This issue of transparency support is complicated, especially
with the multitude of output formats and RIPs we support, but it's on
our radar as well.
