They don't. :( One of my older machines is a rev A beige g3 minitower,
266mhz with the ultra SCSI card. They're fantastic machines as far as
stability, durability and upgrading go...
The rev A are still good machines, but have some caveats (which others have
mentioned). Generally if it is 233-266mhz, its rev A (my experience only).
They're just great bargains, BUT you can't count on being able to buy a rev
A and swapping in a rev b or c ROM now, they just have gotten eaten up.
Besides the hard drive issues noted, I've also had problems with some of the
beige g3's not being able to take certain DIMM sizes or types (like 256meg
or 512meg) or being able to go over 512 megs.
