I've got Seagate drives in Frankie. One 40 and one 20 gig. Both are 5400 RPM
since I'm not doing anything that really benefits from fast disk access. IBM
drives reside in my Wallstreet II, iMac and even in my Pentium III machine.
I wouldn't buy a Western Digital drive again to save my live. I've had two
die on me within a week of installing them. Different models even. Quantum
are no longer their own company. They were bought out by Maxtor several
months ago. There was a time where I couldn't recommend Quantum drives
highly enough and still have a pair of 700 meggers in my 6100. Now days
though I'd have a hard time recommending them because I've also had Maxtor
drives die on me within a few short weeks of installing (three drives, all
different models, two separate purchase times). I know nothing about QPS or
Fujitsu drives.
