Wow, and you have time to even read email???? :) > That should max me out to the 1.5gb mem allowed on > the G-4. I know people who are professional designers who are envying you. :) Make sure you go to your applications' icon and raise its memory allocation. (click the icon, go to get info under file, select memory from the pop up and raise it way up) or your apps won't know to use the extra memory. I dont' know about the stability claims... Most people can get by just fine with a 20gig hard drive, or 40 if you use are going to be getting into video, etc. Video eats disk space like you wouldn't believe. If you are having space issues now, then yes, a bigger hard drive will definetly help things. > Are they very difficult to install? Check out the link below which I believe has tutorials with pictures on installing drives in g4's and g3's. http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ > If I might add a hint to all out there > that wants to get more speed and stability, I went to the Motorola websight > and there are files there, VbasicOps, VBigNum, VectorOps, VMathlib. The website > is www.mot.com/SPS/PowerPC/library/fact_sheet/libmoto/_download.html These were a big deal on a few 3d lists I'm on awhile back... They were actually released back with the PowerPC 601 chip. Some older programs actually installed them, but if I recall many of the things were rolled into the operating system at around 8-8.5, and the extensions can cause compatibility with certain programs, like photodeluxe, if you have them installed.
