Hi Peter, Thanks very much for this info, Peter. Surprisingly, I started to look for the 60GXP and didn't have any luck finding them for sale! (But it was brand new only a year ago!) Well, the 120 GXP would probably be okay... and I've not exhausted all possibilities for finding it yet either. I also started to look at the Seagate's Barracuda ATA IV last night at the Storage Review place... when the new iCab went crazy. I'd forgotten to up the memory and had lots of windows open--maybe that was it? But it was already late so that event cut short my research. I'll go back to read it again tonight and will just cross my fingers that that particular page doesn't do something strange to browsers. Anyway, I'm remembering that the reviewer at that site thought highly of the Western Digital Caviar WD1200JB too... but I don't remember its noise levels. Quiet, cool operation is actually more important to me than speed. If anyone here is running a Barracuda ATA IV or Western Digital Caviar WD1200JB, would you please let me know what you think of the noise levels? -- Best wishes, Mary <http://www.marygrimsley.org/> <http://www.marygrimsley.org/emailcontact.php> <---New addresses.
