Can anyone with a similar configured G3 Mac tell of their successful HD and

Deep sleep is more a drive and/or driver problem than it is an UATA card
problem.

HDT would not properly support deep sleep on the G3s, even with the built-in
EIDE buses. I have no idea if HDT has since been fixed as it turned out that
Drive Setup will properly handle any late EIDE or almost any UATA drive,
thereby completely eliminating ay reason to own or use HDT.

The VST card works well in any machine I have tested it in, and that includes
7200s through Beige G3s (and just about every Mac in between ... both with
the machine's stock Apple processor and also with a G3 processor card).

The OS X firmware from OWC fixes some problems with booting from some fast
drives, but it breaks some features which formerly worked with the previous
firmware.

I've had no deep sleep problems on my Beige G3/300 MT with IBM and Maxtor
drives, and with ProMax TurboMax UATA/33, ACARD UATA/66 (and derivatives) and
VST UATA/66 (and derivatives) cards.

The Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 60 series and the IBM 60GXP series are both very
reliable, very quiet drives.
