I'm putting together a computer with a B&W G3 motherboard I got from somebody cheap. After scavenging the G3 and video out of my 9500 and using some PC100 RAM I had laying around, the machine will power up, but I can't get an OS to load.
Are there any tricks to get the machine to boot off of CD. On my OS 8.5 CD, it will read forever and not give me a Happy Mac. On my 9.1 CD, it will read the CD some, pop up the Happy Mac, then hang solid. Have to manually reset after that. I have a feeling it doesn't like the IDE CDROM it's using. Any ideas?
