Well first of all drives now are dirt cheap. You can get a 40GB for about $114CDN or a 20GB for under $100CDN. As well if one fails on you at least you have the other whereas if your partitioned drive screws up well then you're screwed. Also partitioning her current drive means she'll have to backup all her files since she's going to have to re-format it. Unless there's a way to partition without having to re-format. Is there?
I had partitioned my first hard drive in order to use X but something happened down the road and I lost my files in both partitions. Also I had installed VPC 4 and was trying to run windows off a partition. However, for some strange reason, Windows hated the extended format and would only work in Standard. Partitioning the drive and formatting one in standard and the other in extended only confused windows more. Lastly, you have 3 bays why not use them =). on 9/12/02 8:20 PM, Ryan Coleman at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >> Sorry forgot to add that it would be best to get a second hard drive (40 >> GB?) and install X.
