Some programs don't seem to refresh the screen properly and leave white rectangles. And when logging out of X the Classic won't quit so the machine doesn't shut down.
If it's a graphics problem, just for reference I'm running a Radeon 7000. I shouold check and see if I have the latest drives, since someone suggested that installing the 10.2.2 update overwrites them. I just thought of that.
