10.2.2 does overwrite any other ATi drivers. You should reinstall. Then 
repair permissions, as both 10.2.2 and the ATi installer will mess them 
up.

Will it fix your Classic display artifacts/anomalies? I do have a 7000, 
but don't use Classic often enough to offer an opinion.
