I'll argue this statement until the day you pry my 4x5 view camera from my cold, dead hands. :) The only thing I want to change in your thoughts is to pay closer heed to DPI of the camera and in Photoshop. Remember you'll want to match the DPI to what you print at, most inkjets and digital labs will use a 300DPI file. Anything more is wasted. When you re-size, you can set your image size to 4x6", but in the same action, set your DPI to 300 (for print) or 75 for screen. The other useful parts of Photoshop are curves and levels, more so curves (then, I do mostly B&W work...). I would suggest playing with those a bit, as well. There's a real, technical way to do curves correctly, and then there's my way, which is when it looks good to me. Outside of resizing/sampling, curves, and the occasional level adjust, I don't really need Photoshop (well, that and clone tool, but you don't have to retouch dust spots on your negs)... -- http://www.infotainment.org <-> more fun than a poke in your eye. http://www.eighteenpercent.com <-> photography and portfolio. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
