4x5 is large, cause real cameras are built from wood and we measure film
in inches... However, that disregards the included smiley face, which
implies a joking manner, especially considering I then went on to give
helpful hints for working with his camera.

Already here. I don't know about sensors for real cameras, but LF cameras
can use a scanning back. Now, if you meant to say "affordable 24MP
cameras," well, in five years time.

Of course, as I said, you'll be prying my 4x5 and a sheet of plus-x from
my locked fingers. :) (see, there's that face, implying a humourous
comment)

Debate it with your professional lab techs, then. The Fuji Frontier, Agfa
D-Lab, and Noritsu digital minilabs are all 300 or so (I think the Noritsu
is 320). As for a Lightjet? I'm not so sure, however what the internet
seems to be telling me is 406dpi, but optimally at 200 to 300dpi.
