Debate it with your professional lab techs, then. The Fuji Frontier, Agfa D-Lab, and Noritsu digital minilabs are all 300 or so (I think the Noritsu is 320). As for a Lightjet? I'm not so sure, however what the internet seems to be telling me is 406dpi, but optimally at 200 to 300dpi. --- end of quote --- Who could see 3000dpi? The point of these high resolution printers, Epsons printing at 1400 or 2800 dpi is to get really small dot sizes which give better continuous color.
