So, the flyback has been installed as of last night.

But before that, while I was at work looking at my nice new
flyback, I consulted the Magic 8 ball I have on my desk.
I asked it if I would get the monitor working tonight.

It's reply was "Yes".

That sure made me all happy.. So I came home, did some stuff,
and pulled the monitor all apart again. Got the fbt installed in
about an hour, and put the works back together. Not completely,
but enough to test things.

And fired it up.

Thankfully it didn't catch fire like someone at work said it was.

But it also didn't give me any useful picture. On a positive
note, there was static on the screen when the fbt got power, which
is something it wasn't doing before. Now, with a working video
signal, it turns on for about 3 seconds. And in that time, the
guns get a little warmed up, but then what looks like could be a
picture, turns into a colorful oval shape, about 2"x4" on the scren.
That gets smaller then disappears just as the monitor either shuts
itself down, or goes into sleep mode.

So ya. It's not working yet. And now, i'm at the end of my monitor
repair skills. I talked to the place that I bought the fbt from
and their tech said that if I had any problems installing it, that
I could bring it by the shop and they would do it for me. (for a small
fee)...

So, unless Steve or some other monitor savy people have an idea on
what I should look for. It looks like I'll take this unit into
the shop and let them work their magic.
