Taa Daa! I now have a fully functional 17" Studio Display! So ya, I took the unit into the shop, and paid $90 after taxes, and the thing works like it was brand new.
Turns out that had I not given up, I would have found the caps that were bad, and could have replaced them. But this way I actually get a warranty (to some degree) on the work done, and they adjusted everything nicely. Man, what a nice picture. And it does 1600x1200. Anyways, while I was in the shop, I also found an Apple 20" and 21" monitor for sale. I'm thinking that even tho I now have this really sexy monitor, I might save some money and get something bigger. I'm still amazed that the 20" they have there was only $199. -nils g3/375/256/60gb/ fully funtional 17" crt studio display On Tue, Aug 19, 2003 at 10:05:54PM -0700 or thereabouts, Nils wrote: > So, the flyback has been installed as of last night. > > But before that, while I was at work looking at my nice new > flyback, I consulted the Magic 8 ball I have on my desk. > I asked it if I would get the monitor working tonight. > > It's reply was "Yes". > > That sure made me all happy..
