I have just started a new job and like my previous job I now have to go through the ritual of convincing the guys that I actully do need a Mac (not just want one), but there are always the oddities that crop up when running against a Windoze network.
Everyone is amazed at how simply I get on the Internet, I just plug it in and... well, that's it.
However, my problem is printer. I believe they run a printer through a PC's parallel port and this PC shares the printer.
In my previous job all the printers were Ethernet and my Mac simply found them directly and that was that, but not here.
This is a smaller company with a lower budget.
Any ideas as to the best way of solving this?
I will probably push for my own printer as I am reponsible for documentation, but all the same...
Laurence
