I am trying to get the same thing to work on my home Mac/PC network...
I am using SAMBA but not having any luck...

1. You need to type the following command in the Terminal.
sudo ln -s `which smbspool` /usr/libexec/cups/backend/smb
2. Restart the system.
3. Open the print center and hold down the <alt> key while clicking the 'Add' button. In the device list you should see "Windows printer via SAMBA" selection. Choose this option. Use the following for the printer address.
smb://user:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/server/sharename
4. You can perform additional printer modification from the CUPS admin page [url]http://localhost:631/admin[/url]
