I have run into this problem at home myself. I was running my Beige G3 Server running OS X.6/9.2, my 12" PB and a Compaq Presario running XP Home on a network. The Compaq had the printer hooked up to it's parallel port and I had enabled it for sharing. This is all quite easy to setup through the network settings in OS X's preferences panel and by right clicking the printer icon on your XP machine and choosing the sharing tab.
BUT, this setup worked flawlessly for 2 months until !!!! the Compaq's networking files somehow got corrupted. It now refuses to recognize anything, I cannot print through it from my Macs, I cannot use Messenger or AOL on it and it generally, no surprise here, pulled a good old Windows move on me and QUIT WORKING! Now, Im no slouch with computers, and I have quite a few IT friends who run departments etc...The generally agreed upon solution??
As always, reinstall Windows!!!
My point (yes, their is a point), is if your companies machines are running XP and you are running OS X.2--->, the setup should be quick and painless. Whatever happens after that is up to God!
