However, my problem is printer. I believe they run a printer through a PC's parallel port and this PC shares the printer.

This is a smaller company with a lower budget.


Just went thru that recently. I have tried a software called 'Dave 4.1' from Thusby Software (www.thursby.com). Excellent. Does the job of making your Mac seeing the PC printer on the parrallel port. But it is a bit expensive at $149 because it does a lot more. If you are only looking for sharing printer, the best choice (most economical) is a simple print server. D-Link DP-300U allows you to connect 2 standard printer and 1 USB printer. It's easy to install and virtually trouble free.
