I think it is looking for a 2000 Server Domain Server and is not happy resolving it self to a LAN of Mac's and Linux boxes...

Go into your Networking cp on the Win2K box and click on Advanced > Network Identification. Select Properties, you'll get the dialog that shows what domain or workgroup you're joined as.


(if this is an ex-corporate machine, you may have to click on the More button in this dialog to fix what DNS suffix it wants. if it isn't checked to change primary dns, check it.)

You WILL have to be logged on as administrator to the local workgroup/machine or part of the Administrators group to do this.

Don't use the Wizard cr*p. it breaks.

You don't have your Linux box to be a domain controller, do you?
