Many folks on this list have mentioned cloning this system or that and then restoring it on another machine. Sounds great. Eliminates all that time you spend installing and configuring your programs.
I just tried cloning a rather stuffed iMac to restore onto a G3B&W. What a mess. After numerous panics and program crashes, and generally trying to straighten things out, I decided that reinstalling programs looked a lot more straight forward and perhaps less time consuming.
Has anybody had any success with cloning, other than the obvious benefits of cloning to create a clean backup.
