There is a massive increase in speed with the pci cards as compared to drives
running on the motherboard bus, usually about 4x. They are fairly cheap and,
if I've got it straight, you don't need the ATA 133 cards on a Beige since they
are faster than the bus can manage. You'll get the same results with an ATA 66
pci card and 7200 rpm drives. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
Is this also true for a B&W, or would a ATA-133 card make any difference compared to a ATA-66? I''m using a Maxtor 60GB and 120GB and a Pioneer A103 all on the internal bus and I think I should consider a PCI-ATA-card. Any advice?
Thanks,
Marc
