Hi,

A friend of mine has a B&W rev1 with Adaptec 2906 SCSI adapter and two
Teac CD burners (55S and 56S) in an external case. Toast sees the drives
and both burn fine but for some reason they don't show up for reading in
CD's, only the internal CD-rom shows up. Also on inserting a data CD
into the scsi burners no CD-icon shows up, system profiler shows an
existing medium but a "warning: not activated". Happens to Mac
"formatted" ones as well as iso9660/hfs hybrid.

Help suggested checking for a variety of drivers which are there with
two exceptions: iso9660 and high something(sierra?) are in the system
extension folder but do not show up as extension in the
"apple"-[something]-submenu.

Sorry for being vague on some names -- the Mac is not at this place and
it's a few days ago -- and the system was German so I could only guess
at the english menu names anyway.

Any idea what's missing? To me it feels as if some driver like
"scsi-cdrom-device-driver" is missing and Toast does have it's own
driver for burning but relies on the OS driver for reading -- which is
not there.

Thanks for any hints,

K.-H.
