A friend of mine has a B&W rev1 with Adaptec 2906 SCSI adapter and two Teac CD burners (55S and 56S) in an external case. Toast sees the drives and both burn fine but for some reason they don't show up for reading in CD's, only the internal CD-rom shows up.
Toast includes an internal driver that's loaded on the fly, to let it recognize and burn on drives not directly supported by Apple. To use those drives outside of Toast, install the driver extension included with Toast.
