compatibility issues!  My notes say Toast is *incompatible* with a
number of Apple's extensions (per Roxio's web site).  To use it, you
must disable these:
                Authoring Support
                Disc Burner Extension
                FireWire Authoring Support
                iTunes Extension
                SDAP Authoring Support
                USB Authoring Support

That might be the problem.....

also note, this is largely because the apple extensions load first. If you rename the toast extension to load before these others, all is usually ok. I know I've seen an Apple KB document to that effect.
