I am not sure that this is relevant, but I have a PPA Firewire (only) card in a PPC 9600 with an G3 400MHz XLR8 ZIF and carrier with MacOS 9.1. It recognizes an external PPA Firewire "box" in which I have installed a Western Digital Special Edition 80GB IDE drive. I had the above drive formatted and partitioned on another G4 computer running OS 10.2. It seems to accept, save and give access to saved data with the 9600 above. My only problem has been that DiskWarrior 2.1.1 says the directory needs rebuilding, but after it says the drive has been rebuilt, a recheck of "graph" says the drive directory needs to be rebuilt again, and again, and again. So I don't know where the problem is, and so far the tech support of Alsoft hasn't been able to help. Any suggestions?
To go back to where I started this post, the PPA Firewire only ( not Combo w/ USB ) card seems to work well.
