Adaptec has a Combo Card that is Mac compatible:

glish+US&prodkey=AUA-3020&cat=%2fTechnology%2fFireWire-1394%2fUSB+%26+FireWi
re+Combo+Cards

The Card is USB 2.0, but reading the product specs (and the small print of
course):

Macintosh

  a.. Power Macintosh beige G3 (rev B or later) & Blue & White G3 & G4s
b.. Mac OS 9.0.4 or later*
  c.. Available PCI slot
  d.. CD-ROM drive
e.. *This card is OHCI compatible. Drivers that Apple includes in the Mac
OS will work with this product. Note: USB ports will function at USB 1.1
speeds.
>From the above, it would seem that the card only does USB 1.1 with a Mac.

Now, I was considering getting this card to replace two separate cards (USB
& FIREWire) so I can free up a PCI slot, but the thing that kind of bothers
me is that they require a rev. B motherboard (mine is a rev A).

My two questions:

1. Is there an easy way to go from rev. A to rev. B (like replacing a chip),
or is this a motherboard swap type of operation?
2. Can this card really be that picky?

thx
alex
