Hi Bruce I brought an Epson back to life by cleaning the heads that had gotten clogged with dried ink. BTW, you should be prepared to replace the ink cartridges afterwards. I used qtips, a medicine dropper, paper towels, and rubbing alcohol.SNIP I can't help but wonder if Nail Polish Remover (the acetone kind) wouldn't do a better and faster job. Rubbing alcohol is mostly water. Kathi
Kathi and Bruce,
Mail polish remover (the acetone kind) will destroy any plastic parts in that printer or any other item made from any sort or kind of plastic, plumbers use acetone to weld (glue) plastic water pipes to each other. Just my 2 cts worth of advice.
Yeah, stay away from acetone.
I used denatured alcohol to clean a Color StyleWriter Pro once. I mostly just dripped a few drops into each port and let it sit for a while.
Rubbing alcohol is usually 70% isopropyl, 30% water. You can get 90% isopropyl but you have to check the label.
