Thanks to all. The wireless networking aspect was the deal maker for me. Considering HP also had a rebate going on this thing (the 5850), it ended up being a no brainier.
But a question: Clark - the install went fine on both OS X and 9, and all users can print under X. However, when I try to print under 9 it gives an alert saying: drivers not installed. I repeated this a couple times. Any suggestions? Emailing HP hasn't worked because they corral you into choosing a particular topic/item, then say it can't be found (!).
I don't recall whether I used the CD-ROM for install or a download from HP.
I did install it though and it did work although I think I only did a single test print. Since then I've had a problem with the driver choking during startup. This may be an issue with the OS on the machine as it has been a while since I installed the OS on that machine and it may have some corruption problems. I haven't done anything about it as the machine I installed it on isn't used so much anymore.
