Is Mozilla really that structurally different from Netscape?

Yes, it is. On my PM 7300, NS 6 and 7 are a hobbled dogs compared to Moz.

On my OS X machines I use Safari, but I still look for a viable option to IE
for my Classic needs; iCab almost cuts it, except for its persona non gratis
status with Flash and Shockwave-enhanced sites.

Please elaborate.

I use flash and shockwave'd sites with iCab regularly with no difficulties.
