Mozilla and Netscape > 6.0 share the same code base. That said there is some stuff in Netscape that isn't in Mozilla and Mozilla is, right now, three or four major releases *ahead* of netscape.

Netscape 7.02 is based on Mozilla 1.3 or 1.4; the current release version of Mozilla is 1.7. 1.8 is in alpha release.

Each release of Mozilla from 0.6 (which was the basis for Netscape 6.0) has shown steady and significant improvement. I've used it since version 0.3, I've used Mozilla as my main browser on Macs and PC's since version 0.8. I'm using Firefox right now on my OS X systems and have no problems beyond sites that explicitly block everything but IE, or require windows specific code.

Netscape versions below 6.0 are based on the old netscape code and don't share anything with Mozilla.

But 1.3.1 (the WamCom version of Mozilla) is the latest one for OS 9.

On my OS X machines I use Safari, but I still look for a viable option to IE
for my Classic needs; iCab almost cuts it, except for its persona non gratis
status with Flash and Shockwave-enhanced sites.

Try Firefox or Camino on the OSX systems...they're far better than Safari, imo.
