The B&W G3/450 Rev 2 that I just acquired has one internal 68pin 9GB

I've heard it is best to use a separate partition for OSX 10.3.

Can I boot that G3 from an external FW HD on which OSX is installed?

What do I need to know about adding an internal ATA drive?
You can add additional drives to a B&W. See the Apple Support site http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=50122 and download the PDF file 034-0687. It covers adding additional SCSI drives or adding an IDE drive to the B&W G3's. MacWorld magazine did a nice step by step, illustrated feature on adding another hard drive to a B&W a few years ago. Someone may have a copy of the article still?

You can load multiple OS's on different drives.
