Well the Blue & White G3 has the 100 MHz system bus, so there's no bus 
improvements until you move to a fairly late model G4 and find the 133 
MHz bus. However, if you're doing a lot of graphics work on a monitor, 
having an AGB graphics slot vs PCI is nice. AGB is the graphics 
standard from the Sawtooth models onward.

ultimately, i would like to be able to edit video & sound and make my
own dvds, but is it worth upgrading this thing, or would i maybe spend 
less money waiting
for the right g4 to come along?
Depends on your price point? Nobody can answer that one for you.
