Don't expect to do DVD quality video with your beige G3. It just gets to be too hard. I have a video capture card on my beige tower with a G4 (I don't use the original personality capture card) and I can barely capture 320 x 240 using JPEG B 15 frames etc. I can only do that by using special system settings--turning everything off and so forth. even so I can't get old final cut pro to run on this thing with OS9 without crashing all the time. Also--generallly--you have to have software to burn DVDs and that means iDVD or Toast 6 (to get the MPEG2 file generally).
I have a 450 cube and there is no comparison between these machines--the cube is immeasurably faster at everything, it is compatible with all apple software, including iSight, and a cube is slower than a sawtooth. So there's your price point.
