Im just saying, thats what were talking about here.  My only specific example 
is how slow and how badly OS X multitasks on my 450MHz sawtooth with plenty 
of graphics power and plenty of ram.  But as Bruce pointed out my Ultra 160 
drive could be slowing things down.  i kind of doubt thats the problem but I 
guess its possible.  Like I said, I have a java app that ran extremely fast in 
OS 
9 but extremely slow in OS X.  Im a little confused to see how that could be 
poorly written.  I blame it on the OS because that is what has changed.  
Anyway, I think its pretty obvious that OS X has some performance issues at 
this 
point, with it being pointed out that there are things in OS X over Unix which 
degrades performance dramatically.
