Trust me Dan, if you limit the discussion to pure image quality, and
ignore the "coolness" and energy issues, there will be a lot more
people in your camp than you think.

Still crying over the recent loss of a 21" Nokia (with Sony Trinitron
tube) Flat screen CRT monitor that I had to replace with a spare 21"
Hitachi with a slightly curved non Sony tube. I even had to ratchet
down the resolution from 1920 x 1200 on the Sony to 1600 x 1024.
CRTs give me a headache, and I didn't realise it until I got an LCD
about 5 years ago (i.e. more than a decade of suffering). Good riddance.
Also, think how much desk space the CRT with the same viewable area as
my 20.1" widescreen LCD would consume!
