The "CRT's have better image quality" is an old canard by now. Yes there are a ton of crappy LCD's out there, there were always a ton of crappy CRT's out there, too.

By now CRT versus LCD is largely a 'Vinyl versus CD' religious conflict, imo. A good quality, properly calibrated LCD is quite comparable to any CRT made.

Perhaps. Sometimes. To some of us, the power and desk space savings are paramount or at least desilu (LCD wins). To some of us the color reproduction and response time (speed) are more important (CRT wins). And some of us just don't care because we feed our low-end-macs hardware bought off LEM Swap and eBay for dirt cheap.

The 30" $2500 Apple Cinema display can actually keep up with dvd video, with no visible artifacts. Ditto for the games I've seen demo'd. It's the first LCD I've seen that's able to do that. It's color reproduction, tho, seems only a bit better than the 4yro 21" ViewSonic monitor I just gave to a client for $50. So I'm going to wait until "comparable" comes comes down in price a bit.

Just got back from the library. Gots the rest of the Ringworld series (*gasp* The Ringworld is Unstable!), and the "Firefly" tv series and the new TommyCruiseIsntGay version of "War Of The Worlds" on DVD. Sci-fi orgy all weekend.

Ack! Eudora's ad just changed to the DVD vers of Dune. Oh My. Someone is targetting my addiction! :\

Anyone try a Slingbox?
Are they Mac compatible?
